Sick!
February 28, 2008
This year is a leap year which means that Friday is February 29th. This day only exists once every four years so I think that I gotta make it a special one. I don’t know how or what I am going to do but Its gonna be crazy. You should all join me and do something super awesome on that day because next year that day wont exist. Do it up.
John 17
February 14, 2008
Key Verse: John 17
I think that this whole chapter should speak very loud and clear to us. This whole chapter is a prayer from Jesus and I think that it’s amazing. The one who was Himself God, felt the need to pray still for the things he needed to pray for. It wasn’t some magical words either it was just a man crying out to God. If Jesus saw a need to pray how much more should we be in constant prayer every day.
Lord I pray that we can remember to constantly be in communication with you. I pray that our prayers are not just short bursts of words directed towards You but they will be our actions and thoughts. Every second of every single day.
John 16
February 13, 2008
Key Verse: John 16:33 “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
This is an incredible verse of hope that I believe we should all remember. We have peace available through Jesus regardless of the situation or the problems we face. He has overcome everything for us so that even though we go through hard times we can feel good about it all.
I pray Lord that I can hold onto these words in the midst of my trials and negative circumstances so that You can give me peace.
John 15
February 12, 2008
Key Verse: John 15:5 “Yes I am the vine; you are the branches. those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.”
I am not really sure if when Jesus said this it means something else like in the Greek or the Hebrew, but I know that for me at least this verse remains a constant for me and my life. If I am not living in Him, things start to become really hard to do and life just kind of slows down. It’s like without His help in my life, things aren’t going to go the way they are supposed to so it becomes absolutley necessary for me to fully and completely rely on Him for everything.
I pray that I can produce good fruit because I trust in you Lord for everything I will ever need.
John 13
February 11, 2008
John 13:31 “As soon as Judas left the room, Jesus said, “The time has come for the Son of Man to enter into his glory, and God will be glorified because of him.”
This verse makes me soooo pumped. It just sounds so awesome and epic. Jesus’s death was a glorious death in every sense of the phrase and thats the God I serve. Pretty sweet.
God I pray that people can see your Glory and fall to their knees because of it.
John 10
February 7, 2008
Key Verse: john 10:24-25 “The people surrounded him and asked, “How long are you going to keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly Jesus replied, “I have already told you, and you don’t believe me. The proof is the work I do in my Father’s name.”
I just hope that I will never be this thickheaded. I don’t want to miss out o the glory of the Lord especially if it is so plainly right in front of me.
Lord I pray that I can be aware of the amazing things you do big and small and not let myself take any of it for granted.
John 9
February 5, 2008
Key Verse: John 9:32-33 “Since the world began it has been unheard of that anyone opened the eyes of one who was born blind. If this Man were not from God, He could do nothing.”
I think it is amazing that this guy understands so easily that Jesus is who He says He is and the religious leaders who should get it don’t. Its like all it took was one act of faith on this mans part and he was part of a miracle and the religious leaders were around and heard of basically every miracle Jesus performed and they still wouldn’t believe. It just goes to show that even with a little bit of faith in some spit and mud God will prove Himself to you every single time.
I pray that regardless of the situation and how crazy it seems I can have faith that God will find a way to make it right…even if it is unorthodox. I also pray again that I don’t let my pride get in the way of me believing something can happen.
John 7
February 4, 2008
Key Verse: John 7:48-49 “Is there a single one of us rulers or Pharisees who believes in him? This foolish crowd follows him, but they are ignorant of the law. God’s curse is on them!”
I feel like this is all to descriptive of a lot of people today who are “Christians”. They feel like they have the right to judge everyone for everything because they think that they have everything under control. I would only hope that we won’t let ourselves be blinded so severely by pride.
I pray that we can have the wisdom to know when pride is becoming a problem and the strength of character to stand up against it and be an example of what a true follower of the Lord should be.
John 6
February 2, 2008
Key Verse: John 6: 5-6 “Jesus soon saw a huge crowd of people coming to look for him. Turning to Philip, he asked, “Where can we buy bread to feed all these people?” He was testing Philip, for he already knew what he was going to do”
My Reflection: I think its a little funny that Jesus asked Philip this question even though he knew the answer. I like that He does this though because it makes it so that we have to still have to work for the answer to whatever it is we are looking for. He knows the answer and He knows how to get there but He still wants us to ask for help and to pursue the answer, causing us to grow in faith.
My prayer is that I can trust the Lord to do great things and miracles in and through my life.
John 4
February 1, 2008
Key Verse: John 4:42″Now we believe, not just because of what you told us, but because we have heard him ourselves. Now we know he is indeed the Savior of the world.”
My Reflection: I think it is important to remember that people will believe when they experience Christ themselves and we don’t have to expain it to them with a million words. Basically we just have to say come and see for yourself and people will get it.
I pray to you Lord in thanks for being so amazing that we only have to tell people to come and see You and they will know you are God. I thank you Lord for being so amazing and making it so easy for us to tell other people about you. You are all we need.
